ZOO FLU

Every Saturday a boy goes to the zoo. He knows exactly what he’s going to see and how the animals will act, but one day everything is different. Kangaroos hop on pogo sticks playing kazoos, rhinos fly, ostriches play bagpipes and penguins turn blue when the animals come down with a bad case of zoo flu. Confused, the boy doesn’t know what to think, until a kindly zookeeper explains that it’s nothing to be afraid of and that zoo flu can happen to anyone.

As a mother of two children who have overcome challenging learning and health issues, I have witnessed first hand the effects illness can have upon a child. And as a writer I have seen how stories can help to ease a child's feeling of isolation and fears, and to chase the monsters away. ZOO FLU was written ....
